How important is Blake Countess to the Michigan secondary? Ask J.T. Floyd, the senior corner opposite of Countess. Blake was hurt in game one with a torn ACL and is out for the year. According to J.T. Floyd, he will checking his phone at halftime in each of the games here on out. Countess will be relaying advice.

Last week Countess told Floyd to watch the cut blocks and the deep ball. T.J. said it was helpful and is looking forward to the advice. After rooming with Countess, they have developed a great bond sources say.

Floyd said, "Any time you have a teammate that goes down with something like that, it's something you don't want to see happen. But for me, personally, that's a guy that I really wanted to take under my wing. We were roommates during camp, we've got a great relationship and I kind of took it hard ... But he's doing well, he's in good spirits, and he's being Blake."

Michigan continues to list Courtney Avery as the starter, but Raymon Taylor doesn't seem too far behind. Also in the mix is sophomore Delonte Hollowell and freshman Terry Richardson.

Floyd says he feels comfortable with either junior corner Courtney Avery or sophomore Raymon Taylor on the field.

As far asMichigan's unquestioned starting cornerback opposite Floyd, Michigan coach Brady Hoke says that's still somewhat of a work in progress. Just goes to show you how important Countess is to that secondary.
