The First for
Fitz

| Fitzgeral Toussaint looks to come out strong. |
After
missing week one due to suspension, Saturday at 3:30 ET, Junior, Fitzgerald
Toussaint will get his chance to pick up his team. The RB claimed he let his
family and team down in a press conference. Now is his opportunity to get back
and run the ball for the Wolverines.
With a
disappointing rushing game in week one, Toussaint must provide a spark for the
offense and take some pressure off of Denard Robinson. With just a combined 69
yards on the ground in the opener, Michigan is desperate for production from
the ground game. Toussaint rushed for 1.041 yards last year and scored 9 times
on the ground.
I think
what is surprising; he only had 6 receptions last year for 29 yards and a score
out of the backfield. Al Borges may want to think of incorporating him in the
passing game a little more. The junior from Youngstown, OH, could be pretty
dangerous out of the backfield with his athleticism and speed. That of course,
will fall on Robinson’s shoulders to go through his progressions and see his
check down.
Overall,
if the offensive line can sync a little and work together every week I believe
Toussaint will reach a thousand yards again despite missing a game. I also
believe he could be an X-Factor throughout the season coming out of the
backfield catching the ball. If the Wolverines can make him a component as a
check down it could mean the difference in a few games, taking the pressure of
Denard, especially with their grueling road schedule.
