Unsure on Offense

Questions on Offense
Published 9/9/2012 by: Jeremy Wrobel

Michigan's rush offense was pretty good stats wise in game two, but it was a Denard show. He finished the game with 218 yards on the ground. Fitzgerald Toussaint had only 7 yards on 8 carries. The offensive line has got to get better before the Notre Dame game. They outweighed the Falcons defense in some cases by 50lbs. and still looked stagnant. If it weren't for a couple huge runs by Denard he would have been held to just 81 yards.

The passing game was more effective this week, and freshmen TE Devin Funchess was the factor. He had 4 catches for 106 yards and one TD. Roy Roundtree and Jeremy Gallon were not factors as Jeremy Jackson picked up few big catches. Devin Gardner had a receiving TD for the second straight game.

My overall offensive grade is a B-. Going against an out manned team we still looked stale and we have got to get better. With a what should be a blow out game next week, we won't see significant improvements in the offense until the Notre Dame game. As long as they keep working in practice, they have the talent to be a good offensive unit. Right now, not so good.
