On Saturday afternoon Michigan hosts the struggling UMass Minutemen. This will be the second meeting between the two. Michigan leads the series 1-0 with the last match-up coming in 2010 and the Wolverines winning 42-37. That was when the U of M had virtually no defense and every game was a struggle.

The defense has got to buckle down in the run defense. They are giving up 261 yards per game. That ranks them 103rd in the nation. Going against a lesser opponent hopefully this will boost their confidence and get them ready for a big game in South Bend. UMass is only averaging 40.5 yards a game rushing so I expect a dominating defensive performance.
As far as the offense goes this should be a chance for the skill players to step up a build confidence as well. The running game, besides Denard has got to make plays. We need to win in other ways than having him do it all. I expect Toussaint to run with a little more passion when his number is called and I would hope the receivers would step up and make some plays. The offense is ranked 77th nationally and after Saturday they should move up. I expect alot of yards and a high score for the Wolverines on Saturday afternoon.
Prediction 55-17. Go Blue!
